(Shoot Day Prep)
Get the home ready for its close-up.
Forward this to your seller ahead of any daytime shoot. The more of this that's done before we arrive, the more time we spend getting shots that sell.

General
- Turn on every overhead light in the house, plus any under-cabinet or accent lighting.
- Turn ceiling fans off.
- Open and raise every curtain so we can see out the window, unless the view right outside is something you'd rather we not show.
- Regular closets and unfinished garages don't need to be staged — if something needs to be hidden, that's exactly where it should go.

Kitchen
- Clear countertops completely, or leave them styled with just one or two items.
- Remove dish towels, floor mats, and anything from the sink.
- Clear the top of and around the refrigerator — no magnets or papers.
- Tuck trash cans and pet bowls out of sight.

Bathrooms
- Clear sinks of soap, toothbrushes, and bottles.
- Remove floor mats.
- Clear the shower of bottles, razors, and loofahs.
- Hide trash cans and tissue boxes, and close toilet lids.

Living Areas
- Put away chargers, remotes, tissue boxes, and pet items.
- Hide excess wires — TV cables, charging stations, and power strips.

Bedrooms
- Clear dressers, nightstands, and desks completely.
- In kids' rooms, corral toys along one wall to keep the space feeling open.

Exterior
- Move cars off the driveway and out of frame.
- Close the garage door.
- Remove furniture and grill covers, straighten cushions, open umbrellas.
- Clear leaves and debris from the driveway, walkways, and patio.
- Lawn freshly mowed, or driveway and walkways shoveled — whichever fits the season.
